We've Gone Batty!

Welcome Back! Last week our class learned all about bats. We read many nonfiction and fiction books about bats and recorded facts we learned about bats. We also spent some time comparing and contrasting bats and birds using a Venn Diagram:

Another thing we did was think about something that drives us "batty". Then we wrote this chart together as a class. It is very entertaining to find out what bothers or annoys five and six year olds!

What drives you batty?

Pumpkin Life Cycle Technology Project

Welcome to my classroom blog! My goal with this blog is to post at least once a month highlighting something special we are learning in class.
I wanted to share with you a project the students worked on last Friday. For science last week, we learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin.  The kids were so EXCITED to share their pumpkin project with you all that we worked on Thursday and Friday! We also checked out the iPads for the students to draw out the life cycle with partners. It was so much fun to see the students working cooperatively, and also showing their understanding of the pumpkin life cycle. Check it out!

Here are a few of the students actually working on the iPads:
Savannah and Saivi
Caitlin and Bailey
 Alexander and Evan
Sophia and Srikaran

And here are the projects the kids created:
 Asa and Adam
 Aubree and Daniel
 Ava and Brooke
 Bailey and Caitlin
 Evan and Alex
 Jack and Yousef
